MEANWHILE THE CENTRAL ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE IS STILL STRUGGLING TO RESTORE POWER. Approximately 1,000 remain without power in Butler County; warming centers available
Approximately 1,000 customers in Butler County were still without power on Monday, as utility crews continued work to repair the damage from Thursday's winter snowstorm. Tap the video above to watch our latest report.Many are serviced by Central Electric Cooperative and it was announced on their website that more than 16,000 customers were initially without power in their service area, which includes Butler County."We have no running water because we have well and electric pump, and we have no heat because our furnace is a fuel-oil furnace and the pump has to run off electricity," said Don Somerfield, of Cherry Township. The shelter closed Sunday afternoon. Electricity was restored for some residents, and they were able to return to their homes, but some residents are still without electricity.These warming centers are also open throughout the county, but without overnight accommodations:Connoquenessing Fire Department, 180 Main St. Connoquenessing, PA 16027 until further notice. Contained pets are being accepted.Butler Township Fire Station 3, 121 Sparks Ave Butler., PA 16001 until further notice. Washington St., Eau Claire, PA 16030. No pets are accepted and no shower facilities are available. Portersville Emergency Medical Services, 1122 W.
